Dharwad peda

The story of Dharwad Peda dates back to the 19th century when it was first concocted in the kitchens of Dharwad's local sweet shops. It is believed that the recipe was a closely guarded secret passed down through generations within these families.

Dharwad Peda(Kannada:-ಧಾರವಾಡ ಪೇಡ) was first prepared by Ram Ratan Singh Thakur in the early 19th century. The Thakur family migrated frm Unnao (Madhya Pradesh) to Dharwad. It is a Indian sweet and is uniquely prepared and found in Karnataka state.

The milk used in Dharwad Pedha is procured from the local areas of Dharwad helping in its unique taste. The mixture is cooked on a wood fire till the colour turns brown.

Dharwad pedha is a dessert snack, so naturally it's health benefits are not as numerous as some other foods, like chickpeas or baked chicken.
It is  made of milk which is heated and stirred continuously, with added flavor and sugar. As a result, it can be considered a kind of condensed milk with flavors.
